2017 Toyota Tacoma Engine, Release date
Previous model year brought new generation for one of the most popular pickup trucks in the world. Tacoma has been on the market from 1995, and it has achieved great results in the US. 2017 Toyota Tacoma will stay pretty much unchanged, due to the fact that 2016 MY brought new generation and with it, big redesign of the model. In January this year, at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, Japanese multinational automaker revealed newly redesigned Tacoma which gathered sympathies of many people.
2017 Toyota Tacoma TRIMS AND FEATURES
Jest like its predecessor, 2017 Toyota Tacoma comes available in two body styles and five trims. Its body styles include version with shorter bed named Double Cab, and the one with longer bed named Access Cab. Regardless of which one you choose you will be able to accommodate 5 people. Access Cab, however, offers more comfort and space inside the cabin.
Trim levels include SR, SR5, TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road, and Limited. When properly equipped 2017 Tacoma is able to tow up to 6,800 pounds. Features found on the base SR trim include intermittent wipers, sliding rear glass, climate control, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, power windows and numerous technology features. Come of them are 6-speaker sound system with 6.1-inch touch-screen, voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free, a rearview camera, USB, Bluetooth connection and an auxiliary audio jack. Upper trims, logically get more, from 4.2-inch multi-information display to heated front seats upholstered in leather.
Special trim is TRD which comes with suspension upgrades and more all-terrain ability, in order to deliver best off-road performances. Limited model comes with all features found on lower trims, meaning that 2017 Toyota Tacoma Limited will be best of them all, as it usually goes.
2017 Toyota Tacoma ENGINES
Under the hood of the 2017 Toyota Tacoma will be placed the same engines as before. Those include base, 2.7-liter four-cylinder and optional, 3.5-liter V6 engine, which is new from last year. Base engine delivers 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The V-6 produces 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Transmission choices for this engine include 6-speed automatic as well as 6-speed manual.
Both 4-wheel drive and 2-wheel drive configurations are available. Fuel economy specs of the model are not available yet, but Toyota said that we could expect better efficiency of the popular Tacoma in future.
2017 Toyota Tacoma PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
Price of the model will probably start at $22,000 approximately, for the Access Cab, and around $24,000 for the Double Cab. Release date of the model is not expected before late next year, since the sale of 2016 Tacoma still hasn’t started, but is expected this fall.
