2017 Honda Ridgeline Redesign, News
2017 Honda Ridgeline will come fully redesigned, although the model was expected to emerge earlier. 2015 calendar year is not over yet, and 2016 models are not fully revealed, but car fans are eager to see further into the future. Honda’s Ridgeline will probably miss the 2016 model year, in order to come fully refreshed and redesigned for the 2017th. This news didn’t come as a surprise for the sources close to the company, since Honda didn’t make announcements about when we can expect the new Ridgeline.
2017 Honda Ridgeline DESIGN
New design of the model was already hinted by Honda Motor Corporation on few occasions, by releasing teaser images. Recently the model was caught on the streets, covered in heavy camouflage, during its testing. These spy pictures revealed changes in design, but more importantly, showed us how far Honda has come when it comes to finishing the Ridgeline.
Look of the new Ridgeline is significantly inspired by the Pilot SUV, launched and redesigned earlier on. Its profile is reshaped, and it takes more traditional pickup look. Rear C-pillar is vertical while bedsides are straight and horizontal. Front end is evidently inspired by the Honda Pilot. Shape of the grille and headlights are very similar to the SUVs. Inside, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline will be classier and more modern. However, precise info about the interior design or features is not available, but good news is we won’t have to wait for a long time to see it.
2017 Honda Ridgeline is built on the new light-truck platform developed by Honda, which also underpins the Pilot and Acura MDX SUVs.
2017 Honda Ridgeline ENGINE
When it comes to performance of this new truck, few potions were mentioned. One of them and the most probable one is the V6 unit, taken from the Pilot. It is a 3.5-liter V6 engine, to be precise. Output rates for the 2017 Honda Ridgeline are not revealed, but under the hood of Pilot, this engine delivers 280 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Both front- and all-wheel drive are expected to be available.
Diesel engine is still not confirmed, so we will have to wait for the official press release in order to find out whether Honda will make the diesel engine available for the Ridgeline. Transmissions are already known. According to various sources the model will come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while 9-speed automatic should be available later in its production or as optional for this generation.
2017 Honda Ridgeline PRICE AND RELEASE DATE
Price of the new 2017 Honda Ridgeline should start somewhere around $30,000 figure. Release date of the model is hard to predict. What is known is that the Ridgeline pickup truck will be available probably from the fall, but its premiere could happen early on next year, at some International Auto Show.
