2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT
Ever since its discontinuation back in 2013, the rumors about return of the Escalade EXT appeared online. New generation of the regular Escalade SUV started with this model year, while its EXT pickup version should make a comeback with 2017 model year. Originally the rumors stated that we could see even 2016 version of the model. However, this doesn’t seem to be true, since the model is still not confirmed, and we are approaching end of this, 2015 year, when majority of automakers presents their new models. 2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT now seems like the most probable option.
2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT DESIGN
Changes on this pickup truck should bring same level of news as the new generation brought to regular SUV. The two will share same exterior and interior styling. This means that 2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT will have new front and rear ends, which will be redesigned and modernized. The most noticeable change is the grille. Previous EXT had meshed grille design, while new model features horizontal stripes. Only one body style continues to be available – four-door crew-cab pickup.
Interior is changed even more. Its sleek lines and great curves, match the bold exterior. Transmission positioning is not changed, it is still placed behind the steering wheel, leaving a lot of space in the center console. Better materials and nicer finishes really accentuate the beauty of the cabin. Various interior trims will be available. Completely three equipment levels of the 2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT will be offered, including base Luxury and Premium.
2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT ENGINE
Under the hood of the 2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT will be available only one engine. It is a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 L86 V8 engine capable to deliver up to 420 horsepower and around 460 pound-feet of torque. The power will be distributed to all wheels via Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission, first in automaker’s history.
New EXT comes with Magnetic Ride Control as standard and with towing capacity between 7,900 and 8,300 pounds, depending on equipment. Fuel economy rates will be known later on, but Cadillac claims that new Escalade EXT will deliver 17 percent more efficiency.
2017 Cadillac Escalade EXT PRICE AND RELEASE
New model originally should appear on the market by the end of this year, bus seems like Cadillac will not launch it before next year, 2016. Most likely big reveal will happen in mid-2016, or, perhaps, during the fall. Pricing should start around $70,000 or $75,000 but exact MSRP will be known closer to release date.
