2016 Mitsubishi Triton review, specs, price
2016 Mitsubishi Triton will mainly be carried over, compared to the current model. The main reason for this low level of changes is the fact that it was fully redesigned for previous 2015 model year. This indicates that changes which will follow the 2016 Triton release will not be substantial. Currently in its fifth generation this compact pickup truck is known by numerous names in different markets, but the most common name, besides Triton is Mitsubishi L200.
2016 Mitsubishi Triton DESIGN
Continuing in the same shape and style as its predecessor, 2016 Mitsubishi Triton still looks modern. Changes that we can expect probably include few new exterior colors, as well as some features updates and shuffles. Front end of the Triton is bold and aggressive, showing the power of the model and its high towing rates. Mitsubishi designers managed to make the Triton look both modern and traditional.
New Triton comes available in 5 trims, including VGT Adventure, A/T 4×4, VGT A/T 4×4, VGT M/T 4×4, M/T 4×4 and Quest M/T 4×2. However, this is not the trim line-up for each market, depending on them, trims get new names, but they all come highly equipped. Some of features available on the upcoming Triton include 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon HID headlamps with daytime running lights, automatic wipers, keyless entry and push button start, tilt/telescoping steering wheel with mounted controls and paddle shifters. Tech equipment includes 2-zone climate control, 6-speaker audio system with touchscreen, rearview camera and more.
2016 Mitsubishi Triton ENGINE SPECS
Under the hood of the new Triton will be placed the same engine as before. In fact, we don’t expect any change regarding the performance specs. Engine is a 2.4-litre turbo diesel unit, capable to deliver 178 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. It is combined with either 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. New Triton offers tow rating of 6850 pounds.
This year changes could include some improvements in suspension system, in order to contribute to better performance of the Triton on the open road.
2016 Mitsubishi Triton PRICE AND RELEASE
Price of the new Triton will not be much different from the current. This means we can expect 2016 model to start around $25,000. Release date is not announced yet, but the model should be released by the end of this year, and its sales should start at the same time.
