2016 GMC Canyon diesel, release date

New 2016 GMC Canyon will be mainly carried over model, with one important piece of news – its Duramax diesel powerplant. We recently reviewed its close cousin – 2016 Chevy Colorado, and today we will do the same with 2016 Canyon. The model’s great performances and rugged, aggressive look make a perfect combination for every mid-size truck buyer. The situation on the truck market is about to change, with new Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier, so GMC is making sure to keep the Canyon competitive, even after these releases.

2016 GMC Canyon Front

When we speak about the design of the 2016 GMC Canyon, best word that describes it is – classic. Big grille with horizontal stripes decorates the front end, giving it aggressive touch that screams capability. Its body shape is boxy, but modern. GMC designers thought carefully about the performance and utility of the model.

New Canyon comes in same variants as its predecessor. Those include two- and four-seat extended-cab versions, and a five-seat crew cab. GMC also provided two bed lengths for its customers, while equipment levels are divided into four trims, including SL, Canyon, SLE and top-of-the-line SLT. 2016 GMC Canyon Denali is also expected to be available, together with a work truck version.

Interior of the Canyon is inspired by GMC’s Sierra model, offering great space and high-tech features, including rearview camera, audio system with 6 speakers and a 4.2-inch color display.
